Standard counseling sessions are typically 50 minutes in length. In some cases, session length may vary based on clinical needs. If you would like to schedule an extended session, arrangements must be made in advance and additional fees may apply.

Many clients find that meeting once per week is a helpful starting off point. However, there is no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to how often sessions should occur, as different clients require different levels of support. At the end of the intake session, we will collaborate to determine a session frequency that best supports your treatment needs, goals, and schedule.

Therapy is a professional and collaborative process intended to support psychological growth, symptom reduction, and improved functioning. The process typically begins with an intake session, then you and your provider will collaborate to develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs and review your progress along the way.
Throughout the process, your open communication and active participation are encouraged. Your feedback is an important part of therapy so that you and your provider may discuss any questions, concerns, or reactions you have at any point during treatment.

A free 20-minute consultation gives us an opportunity to briefly connect and determine whether working together feels like a good fit. We can discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any questions you may have about my approach, fees, scheduling, or the therapy process.
Think of it like an interview for a potential therapist—this time is for you to get a sense of whether I feel like the right fit for your needs.
The consultation is not a therapy session and does not involve a formal assessment. Its purpose is to help you decide whether you would like to move forward with an intake appointment.
-
During this session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your current concerns, relevant background information, and your goals for treatment. I may ask questions about your mental health history, relationships, medical history, and other areas that help me better understand your experiences.
By the end of the session, I will provide my treatment recommendations. We will also discuss your goals and collaborate on a treatment plan.

The practice is currently out-of-network, which means we do not bill insurance companies directly. However, some clients are able to receive reimbursement for therapy services through their out-of-network mental health benefits. The amount reimbursed can vary depending on your individual plan, and we are not responsible for any fees not reimbursed by your insurance company.
Upon request, the practice can provide a monthly superbill, which is an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance company.

Therapy concludes when your goals have been met, when you decide to discontinue services, or if your treatment needs are outside of your provider’s scope of practice.
Some clients achieve their goals in just a few counseling sessions, while others may benefit from months or even years of therapy.
You are in control of your treatment and may end your counseling relationship at any time. If you choose to do so, it is encouraged that you participate in a termination session so your progress can be reviewed, any remaining concerns can be discussed, and referrals provided if desired.
